Let's Learn About Electromagnetism!
Have you ever wondered how some of the technology we take for granted works? In this class we'll learn the basics of electricity, magnetism, and electromagnetism, and how harnessing their properties led to our modern technologies. Along the way we'll cover a bit of the history of important discoveries, see a few demos, and learn how to understand the underlying equations even if you don't consider yourself a "math nerd". If you have a healthy curiosity about science and engineering then this class is for you.
Darin Peterson
Instructor
From an early age Darin Peterson has been interested in how things work, often taking apart clocks, radios, and other mechanical and electrical devices (and trying to put them back together before his parents found out). He has spent the last 35+ years working as an embedded software engineer in the climate control and industrial process control industries. He has a B.S. degree with a double major in Computer Engineering and Computer Science from the U of M (Duluth).
