Parent Workshop: Reducing Trauma & Protecting Our Kids

Kids will be kids, so it’s always an adult’s responsibility to keep children safe. Learn about the impact of childhood trauma, what you can do prevent certain kinds of trauma, and what resources are available to support families in our community.

This workshop will include an overview of Adverse Childhood Experiences, also known as ACEs, and a presentation from Be SMART, an organization working to help parents and adults normalize conversations about gun safety and take responsible actions that can prevent child gun deaths and injuries. Leave this session feeling empowered and better prepared to support your child's physical safety and mental health. The intended audience is parents or other adults who care about creating safe environments for children.

As this session will be held on Zoom, you will need access to video and audio on a computer, tablet or smartphone with internet connection. Zoom is free to use. The link will be emailed to you prior to class.
