  • Spanish 1A-EHSI (Monday)

    *There are two sections of Spanish 1A (Monday or Thursday). If you have some prior Spanish experience, we recommend signing up for the Monday class. If you have no Spanish experience, we recommend signing up for the Thursday class. This will help the instructor tailor the class to the needs of the students. This course provides a fun, engaging introduction to Spanish. Learn basic sentence construction, verbs, pronunciation, and useful travel phrases and tips for Spanish-speaking countries. Participants will enjoy practicing together, sharing common interests, and gaining practical language skills for an enjoyable experience. These are the key instructional objectives based on the course description: 1. Basic Sentence Construction: Students will learn to form simple sentences and phrases in Spanish. 2. Verb Usage: Students will understand and use essential verbs in basic conversations. Some differences between Spanish and English verbs. 3. Pronunciation: Students will practice and improve their Spanish pronunciation for better communication. 4. Vocabulary: Students will acquire some basic and useful vocabulary. 5. Cultural Insight: Students will gain cultural knowledge by discussing travel experiences and common interests with fellow participants as well as learning the peculiarities of different Spanish speaking countries. 6. Practical Application: Students will practice conversational Spanish in a fun and engaging environment. The instruction format includes a combination of instructor-led lessons, group discussions, and interactive practice. Students will engage in guided conversations, pronunciation exercises, and group activities to reinforce learning in a fun and supportive environment.
