Bike Repair/Maintenance: Trailside and HomeHobbiesMany of your bike issues can be solved in this class! Major focus will be on identification of bicycle parts, trailside repair, shifting adjustments, brake adjustments, chain maintenance, how to repair/replace a tube (flat tire), how to safety check your bike. If time allows, we will also learn basic wheel truing, replacing a chain, how to replace brake and shifting cables. Family & Friends Bike RepairHobbiesAttend the Bike Repair class by yourself or bring a friend or family member at no additional cost! It's perfect for individuals, adults, and families who want to bring their bike and learn together in a fun environment. Many common bike issues can be identified and fixed during this class! A great value when you compare the cost of the class to regular bike tune-up services! Topics include: • Bicycle parts identification • Trailside repair basics • Shifting adjustments • Brake adjustments • Chain cleaning and maintenance • How to repair and replace a tube (fix a flat tire) • Proper tire inflation • Basic bike safety checks Please bring your bike especially one that needs a little work. This is a hands-on learning experience designed to help you become more confident maintaining and repairing your own bicycle. IMPORTANT: Bring only one bike per registration. This class will help riders understand and work through many of the most common bicycle repairs and maintenance situations. Topics include: • Flat tire repair • Wheel-related issues • Dropped chains • Cleaning and lubricating your drivetrain • Replacing tubes • Basic trailside troubleshooting • What tools and supplies to carry and purchase for common repairs This class is a combination of hands-on demonstration and lecture based instruction designed to build confidence and prepare riders for real-world riding situations.
