From Savory to Sweet: A Culinary Experience with Way Cool Cooking School
Students will take part in a full-day culinary experience that blends hands-on cooking with creative design. The day begins with a visit to Way Cool Cooking School, where students will prepare enchiladas, pico de gallo, and churro cookies while learning essential kitchen skills. In the afternoon, students will return to site for a fun sweets decorating competition, working in teams to decorate cookies, cupcakes, and cakes. This engaging experience is a perfect mix of hands-on learning, teamwork, creativity, and confidence in the kitchen. -
STEM Experience + 2 Flights & High Flight at iFly
Join us for an engaging field trip that blends education with excitement, offering students an immersive experience they'll never forget. During this interactive learning adventure, students will dive into the physics of flight through demonstrations and engaging STEM presentations. Students will explore the principles of aerodynamics, learning how factors like air resistance and body position impact their ability to soar through the sky. But the excitement doesn't stop there! With hands-on activities that bring science to life, students will experiment with the forces that govern flight and under the guidance of a certified instructor experience firsthand the thrill of defying gravity! What to bring: Sneakers or athletic shoes. No flip flops, sandals, boots or crocs allowed Athletic clothing Packed lunch Water bottle We also ask that those with long hair make sure to secure it in a way that is safe from getting tangled during the flight simulation (pony tail, braids etc.). Vertical Ventures: Rock Climbing at Interstate Park
Students will spend the day exploring the unique cliffs and trails of Interstate Park while learning the basics of rock climbing in a safe, supportive environment. Guided by trained instructors, participants will practice teamwork, problem‑solving, and confidence‑building as they navigate beginner‑friendly climbing routes. Along the way, they’ll discover the park’s geology, enjoy scenic views of the St. Croix River, and experience an exciting outdoor adventure! -
An Adventure Day at Grand Slam: Attractions & Arcade Play
Students will enjoy a high-energy, choice-based adventure day at Grand Slam, where they’ll have the freedom to build a fun-filled experience that matches their interests. The day includes a mix of exciting attractions and arcade play, such as trampolines, laser tag, mini golf, bumper cars, batting cages, and more - plus a provided pizza lunch! -
Walker Art Center: Guided tour & Hands-On Art-Making
Students will spend the day exploring Walker Art Center through a guided, student-friendly tour and a hands-on art activity designed to spark curiosity and creativity. We’ll focus on noticing what stands out, sharing ideas, and making connections to the artists’ choices, then students will create their own piece inspired by what they explored. The day also includes time at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden to experience large-scale outdoor art and grab some fun group photos followed by a picnic lunch! -
Minnesota's Rail Legacy Tour
Students will step into a living classroom within a historic train roundhouse for a hands-on exploration of Minnesota’s rail legacy. Students will bridge the gap between industrial history and modern-day transportation, industry, and social issues. The experience concludes with an exclusive guided tour of the iconic St. Paul Union Depot. -
Immersive Aviation at The Learning Jet
Students prepare for takeoff! In this immersive aviation experience, students board a real aircraft to explore the science of flight firsthand at The Learning Jet in St. Paul. From commanding the captain’s seat to identifying essential components in the hangar, participants engage in dynamic, hands-on activities—such as interactive scavenger hunts and wind-sock construction—designed to bring aerospace concepts to life. This experience will end with a picnic lunch in the park!
